In most cases Classic PROFURL's can be custom installed over the existing forestay to meet every sailor's particular requirements. It does not matter if the forestay has a rigging screw, or if it is wire or rod.
Performance oriented sailors can choose to mount the drum low to the deck to maximise sail area. They can also choose aerofoil shaped extrusions for an aerodynamic advantage when the sail is not reefed.
Cruising sailors can choose to mount the drum to make anchoring easier, as well as to raise the sail off deck for better visibility and reduce chafe on the lifelines. They can also choose a unique rounded foil for strength and sail shape when reefed.
